Flex duct moves heated or cooled air from your system to the room. Each layer keeps that air moving and keeps it at the right temperature.
A smooth, airtight liner wrapped around a steel wire helix. It holds its round shape and lets air flow with little resistance.
A fiberglass blanket that slows heat moving in or out. Thicker insulation means a higher R value and less wasted energy.
A tough vapor barrier that protects the insulation from moisture and tears during install.
| Rating | Insulation | Where it fits |
|---|---|---|
| R4 | Standard thickness | Runs inside heated or cooled parts of the home, like basements and wall cavities |
| R8 | About double the R4 thickness | Unconditioned spaces like attics and crawlspaces, and anywhere local code calls for R8 |
